This is an OEM part manufactured by and was most commonly used on the UP6-40 and UP6-50 rotary compressors. These models were also sometimes referred to the Active Pegasus Belt Drive model.
The gas spring is designed to keep correct tension on the belt and should be changed anytime the belt is changed. recommends changing the gas spring and belt every 8,000 hours or every two years.
